Next week I'm going to be in Northumberland (England - near the border with Scotland) to see my (much) older brother for a few days. I hope to spend at least one day on Lindisfarne (Holy Island). This place is a bulwark of Celtic Christianity - a tidal island which is reached via a causeway but only when the tide is out. There's a number of places on the island we want to visit - the ruins of the abbey are really quite beautiful and the existing church has the spiritual ambience that only comes with longevity of a life of worship and prayer. But we've promised ourselves a visit to the 'Lindisfarne Scriptorium' to see Mary Fleesons work - amazing calligraphy. We're intending to buy ourselvs a wall hanging as a late anniversary present to ourselves (8th of August is our 37th wedding anniversary - thats 37 years 1 wedding, not 37 weddings) - treat yourselves to a look at some of her work:

I e-mailed her to say we're dropping by and she's told me to introduce myself.
