Personally, I'd like to see an article on the Christian response to video games. In the past it was "rock and roll is evil" and now we have many Christians as a whole making a big change in the music industry. Now we have Christian organisations saying pretty much the same thing as what was said about music in the past: "Christians shouldn't play video games."
The problem is that video games could have a much bigger impact than TV, music, and movies. These forms of entertainment only last so long with music at maybe an hour, TV an hour or less per show, and movies usually max out at 4 hours. Video games, on the other hand, are considered to be "good" if they give 50+ hours of gameplay or even much, much longer.
The other problem is that while most other entertainment is fairly passive, video games are interactive and the person playing makes decisions on how things play out. With movies/TV/music the producer decides how things will turn out and the moral decisions of the characters that are held up as good examples. For years now due to technological limitations video games have mainly kept to "pure entertainment" where certain sets of values(whether good or bad) are not even subject matter. This will be changing very soon. Games like Grand Theft Auto 3 where you play the role of a gangster forcibly taking over a small city by nefarious means are only the beginning. Soon we'll have video games trying to "teach" us on social matters.
So, obviously I think Christians should get involved... and I think I'll stop now before I end up writing an article myself. :D I actually have much more I could say on the subject, and while I first started posting here with the intent of simply suggesting such an article, I wouldn't mind writing one if you were interested.
