On average, how many hours a day do you spend writing?

I used to write 3-5 hours a day . . . but that was BTJ. (Before the job) and now I'm lucky to get in an average of an hour a day. I hope I can up this in the future for it's certainly not enough.

A lot of days, I just get my lunch hour to write. I wish it were more. If I do enough of my chores, I sometimes can write for a while before bed. Trying to figure out my schedule/duties list to make it more time. An hour isn't enough.

That's a hard one to answer. Some days I don't get a single word down. But other days I spend the entire day writing. It just depends on where I am in the story and how inspired I feel.

I spend about three hours a day on the computer. Some days it's all writing. Other days it's all research or catching up on email. Actual writing: between one and two hours average.

I voted 3 because that is about how much time i devote to me a day most of the time it's spent writing or working on writing in some way. I don't get three every day but that is a good average.

I'm addicted to writing...when I'm not writing, I'm thinking about when I can get back to it. When I am writing, I'm putting off my other work, delaying dinner, ignoring phone calls, and just hoping no one interrupts me!!! :)

Writing is a relatively new passion for me. I started out just writing for myself, but recently began working on my material for "public consumption." I am writing or re-writing about 3 hours a day. Some days I spend a few hours in research.

I try to schedule two hours a day for writing, usually from 4 to 6 in the afternoon. I actually only spend about 1 1/2 hours writing; the first half hour is used for re-reading what I've written in the previous session and organizing my thoughts in my writing journal.

I let my writing slack off for way too long, so now I'm trying to set a goal for a certain amount a day - especially now that it's summer. I hoping to start with at least 2 hours a day and work my way up :)

I am one of the none.
If I did average it out, I spend maybe thirty minutes a day or less. I have no real excuses. It is one of the most relaxing peaceful things I can do for myself but I rarely take time for myself.

When I don't have WB I can write for three hours or four.

I had slacked off for a while mostly moping. I have finally kicked myself in the rear and I currently am editing for a minimum of 4 hours per day. I have begun to do this full time. I am just hoping all this work will bring my story up to the type of standard that will merit me an agent so I can get published.

When I am not re-reading or editing my story I seem to be day dreaming about it. My biggest worry is creating a really good query letter.

I write usually about one hour. But when the weather is bad and I'm staying home I can write several hours more.

I am new to writing. It will be interesting to see what kind of pattern develops.

I write a few hours in the morning while my son watches cartoons, then again in the afternoons while he naps. I have found that weekends are mostly out bacause my husband is home and a distraction! ~smile~ My second child is due in Septemeber, so I'm trying to finish my novel by then.

I don't really know... It depends on the day. Whether my husband is home, whether the kids are feeling well, if the baby sleeps long enough... I try to write by volume, not time. Well, and quality of course. I try to do at least three pages a day.
