Hello all! I am not sure if this is discussed at some of the conferences or not (I am looking to go to a conference soon I hope), but their are classes available specifically for writing to an online audience. I am planning on taking the course this fall at the local university.

What other venues do you use to stay in the know when it comes to writing? I know of course conferences and workshops, but what other venues do you find useful as well?

Subscribe to the free version of Publisher's Lunch, go to B&N and leaf through whatever trade magazine your genre is in (Locus for Sci-Fi), and cruise around websites like writers.net and Absolute Write. Then come back here for encouragement 'cause you're gonna need it.

Thanks for the helpful tips. Right now I am just learning about the market, what is involved, and the terminology. I know it must get annoying having people ask you all these same questions, but I do appreciate it. I went ahead and signed up for that newsletter and have those links saved in my favorites.
