After being made redundant last year my youngest son has been out of work. Despite many applications and the occasional interview nothing has been forthcoming. He has an interview this coming Monday which looks very promising - please pray for him. (And us as he has been an enormous drain on our financial resources).

Will be praying. Maybe he'll get a really good job, and take care of you two in return.:)

I'll be praying too Keith. That would be awesome if he could get into the work world right away.

Hope things work outwith this job and I hate to sound like a broken record but introduce him to Dave Ramsey with a book or tape from Dave's web site. the man has great advice for people in debt and he might have a book for those just starting out looking for that perfect job.

I pray that God will give him the job that will fulfill his desires and His desires for him, and soon!

I understand, I have been out of work for 3 years (thank the Lord I had a nice savings). I have sent resume after resume out. Very few interviews. Then when I get an interview, it's "wonderful interview, great resume and qualifications..." and the next day in the mail it's "thank you for your interest, hired someone else." It is a very frustrating thing. But, God has the perfect job for us!!
Don't let him give up on himself! It's so easy to get depressed at times like this. Will be praying!!

This particular interview is interesting. A few days ago, having got fed up of ploughing out the same prayer for four months, I prayed that a job might "appear" from an unexpected direction. The following day Matthew was told by a friend that a company were relocating (by a few miles) in bigger premises. On the off chance he took a copy of his CV to the company and left it with them. The following day he gets a phone call from a somewhat excited lady saying come in for an interview - he's just what they are looking for. Transpires that the CV went to an agency person (on the company premises) whos job it is to line up interviews. So now he has two interviews lined up on Monday - the first with the agency (who have told the company that he is "on their books") to get paperwork done (11am), and then with the company (12am) - as he would then officially be "on the books". Seems like some corners are being cut to Matthews advantage.

Apparently the interviews went well - we await a phone call towards the end of the week.

Wonderful news, Keith! It's amazing: God really does care about every facet of our lives, doesn't He?

Had the phone call today. One VERY dissappointed son - despite all the big guns at prayer.

Must admit to getting a shade annoyed with the boss right now.

Really sorry to hear that. I can understand the frustration, but don't give up. After I got out of the military, it was over a year of odd jobs and unemployment before I found the job I'm at now. Been with them for four years now, so there is still hope!

Aw Keith. I'm so sorry. Who knows why God allows us to get up to the door, opens it a crack then slams it on our fingers . . . I can understand your frustration. At times like these, all we can do is wait and trust . . (if there's another solution would love to know)

Think I'm probably a bit on "auto-pilot" now. Could really do with some good news to put this old carriage back on the track.
