I've been a newspaper copy editor since 2001, a part-time freelance writer since 1999 and am about to leave the newspaper biz for full-time ministry. I have a somewhat-steady number of inquiries I get by e-mail from people who happen to find my site on Google, but my schedule is about to severely bottleneck and I'm not going to have any time at all for freelance jobs after early to mid-summer. I've also got one current client who looks to be long-term if I keep accepting her jobs, although it's looking less and less like I'll be able to do so. So I'm looking for someone who is a sharp editor and who is Biblically well-versed who is looking for extra work. If you'd be interested in possibly taking over some of my jobs, please drop me a line at chad@jesusfreak.com and we can hash out the details.

God bless,
Chad

Chad,
It's not clear in your post exactly what you need. Are you looking for someone to take over your editing jobs as in manuscript editor?? It's unclear. Is this a paid position? Thank you.

Chad,

I am the editor for Stepping Stones Book Proposal Critique Service, and I'm a member of the Christian Pen. Depending on what kind of editing jobs these are, I may be able to either help you out or refer you to the CP for an appropriate editor.

I hope you reply to Dr. Rita's post.

Sincerely,
Rita Gerlach

Sorry my lack of clarity in my first message--you can see how late it was when I posted it. Yes, I am looking for someone to take over my jobs as a manuscript editor. All rates would be negotiated with the writers themselves, although with current clients I've been asking $7.50 per 1,000 words, so if I were to refer anyone I have been working with, that has been my prevailing rate.

I am about to dash out the door to work but would be happy to answer any other questions I've left unanswered at this point. :-) Please let me know if you'd like any further information.

Thanks,
Chad

Chad,

I have my own business editing book proposals. This consists of the query, synopsis, author's bio, and the first three chapters. I will consider manuscripts, provided they are fiction.

Please email me with more information.
