I have just spent about 5 hours looking and registering on websites that will benefit me as a writer. IT has been sooo exhuasting! anyone else in this place or have any advice for me

While letting the chickens loose in their new coop Monday one got loose only to be chased by our dog. I went tearing off after them and fell right onto my cell phone, which was clipped to my belt, cramming it into the right side of my abdomen. Been suffering some harsh pain since then but I figured it was just deeply bruised.

A little while ago I had to stretch to unhook some wires and felt something rip and pop followed by blinding pain. I'm up and moving again, however, that spot is extremely painful. I have to be very careful with how I move now and what I lift. Disciplining the kids is proving slightly difficult as well. Although I have to say, since I doubled over in pain the kids are being better behaved. :rolleyes:

The funds are not there to go to the doc so I'm hoping and praying I just tore a muscle. Would appreciate any prayers you can shoot up on my behalf.

I was thinking of a new feature that could be very useful on this site:

I think it would be nice to be able to "attach" threads from the workshop to a person's profile, so that people can click on tab or something and get a list of all the chapters in their book, or a list of all the short stories or poems. It would be easier than having to run a search and click through several pages to find it.

This is an older post from last November, so I was surprised when someone found it, apparently at random. My guess is, he's an unbeliever who was Googling for sites about UFOs, and it came up with this Lightwalker's View entry. His comment is rather nebulous, but I think he insulted my site.

I am semmie. It's Autumn (to be read: "pretty much Winter already") here in Upper Michigan, so I thought I'd join a new forum. Meet me and greet me. :)

I'm noticing that people are beginning to break sentences into single words followed by a period. At first I thought it was just an internet thing like BTW, LOL, and so on. Now I'm starting to see it in novels. For example, the sentence Do not do that. is written as: Do. Not. Do. That.

I sense that it's an attempt to add strength to the delivery. As far as I'm concerned, it's merely poor form and makes no sense at all.

As long as I'm on a rant...Has anyone else noticed the decline in quality of editing, especially copy editing? The book my wife's currently reading has the MC giving Bible readings every Sunday. Two pages later someone hands her a Bible and she thinks, "I haven't touched a Bible since the argument I had with my father. It's been almost two years." What was she reading from every Sunday, The Koran? I came across a line in a book today that read "...she cell phone trash can."
of course a reader can figure out that she dropped the cell phone into a trash can, but it sure breaks the spell.
