Hi everyone, just wanted to post and get the word out that after a long drawn out process, I've begun a new story which I'm incredibly excited about. "Gwenaviere", as you might have seen posted in the fiction critique forum is on hold for now. "Mary of sorrows" is a brand new story that I feel is more mature and diverse in subject than was the other, as "Gwenaviere" is a story that begun originally when I was only about 16. At 21(not too ancient) I'm ready to dive into subjects that I see around me on a constant basis, that need to be addressed bluntly and from the perspective of faith, which I consider to be the only that really matters. Here's the synopsis.
Maria Dolores is a prostitute on the streets of Mexico, trying desperately to protect the three young women that she has taken under her wing, while searching hungrily for redemption from her horrible life, and feuding with Carmelo, the local drug cartel. Maria wants nothing more than to save her young friends, get them away from the city and into a new life, and then to escape herself and try and find peace with the life she was sold into by her desperate family as a young woman. But Maria must painfully swallow the fact that even if she dies for them, Blanca, Evangelina and Lupe can only ever be saved by God, and that all of their redemption must be found there in Him, and nowhere else.
If you're interested at all, you can check out www.xanga.com/MaryofSorrows to keep up with the progress, although I plan to post in the forum when I get the first chapter finished. I know that I'm not very involved in the community around here but school keeps me agonizingly busy. Anyway, thanks to anyone who took the time to check this out
