I appreciate all the wonderful articles, stories and poems I see here. Its wonderful that Christian writers can showcase their work, and praise God for what he's done for them in their lives. Its an important way for Christian writers to express the gift God has given us.
But I am looking for a site where what we write will attract the seeker. The world's seekers and doubters aren't going to stop at a site that is titled 'Christian'. What they know about Christians may only be what they've been taught by the world. What kind of view can that be?
I realize of course, that if you title the site, or your articles with the venacular of the un-churched world, or for those who have no idea what it really means to be saved- you'd be risking looking and sounding like something else all together. If you are 'spiritual' that could mean an endless array of things un-Godly. If you say 'inspirational' - you sound like cotton candy, something warm and fuzzy, something that might make you feel good for a few hours, or something that may not get to the heart of the matter at all.
So what do we do? I think we should at least try be conscious of whom we want to read our words; To God in praise or worship, to the church lady, or to the man on the street. Perhaps a small start would be to title our work in way that might attract that searching, hurting person.

I like your approach to target hurting people. I started a writing ministy almost two years ago called A NEWSLETTER FOR ENCOURAGEMENT with the sole purpose of giving hope, plus practical steps to believers and unbelievers. In hopes that by sharing the truths of what God has done in my life, I would
(1) refresh a weary or backsliding brother or sister (2) to introduce some hopeless soul's to Jesus (3) you know those multitudes of people that have said the sinners prayer, but were left undiscipled, without any understanding of who or what they made a commitment too. (Just so somebody could say they saved them) They are my primary focus.
Anyway I figure you can gripe about it or do what's in your heart.
I have no training at all in writing, I have to trust completely in God, when I first decided to start this ministry I had been on vacation and I brought a copy of Charles Stanly's The Spirit filled Christian.
I remember three important steps that He gave for ministry ( I will be rewording it, to the best that I can recall it )
(1) You must be totally convinced that you will fail , and be completely dependant on God doing it through you.
(2) You will see evidence of the Lord doing His work in it.
(3) You will spend more time thanking and praising Him for what He is doing, instead of worring about how you will do it.
So anyway if the Lord is willing, when I learn how to start a website I'll be right there in thought with you, for going after
THE HURTING.
God bless you

To the person who wanted to start a website without the tried and tired Christian language;
please let me know (here) if you've succeeded. I am still looking.
Thanks
