I am working on an outline for a game for my children's chapter book, but I'm not sure where to go from there.

Is there a standard format for game manuscripts?

Where can I find what's needed for a proposal?

Are there any Christian games that have been developed for Playstation/Gamecube or are they mostly computer games?

I could not find one, but is there a list of Christian game developers?

Thanks - elbib (Kimberli)

1. Not that I'm aware of. Run a search on "game design documentation" and you'll probably find some examples pulled from old projects.

2. www.gamedev.net and www.gamasutra.com
Look at the business articles.

3. I'm not aware of any Christian game for the recent consoles. The last Christian console game was for the Super Nintendo. I do know some Christian game devs are "planning" on releasing for the new consoles but nothing certain. This is mainly due to the high upfront costs of console development. You have to pay to enter the developer programs, pay for console development kits, and pay for other misc. software. To give you an idea, the cost of the development kit for Nintendo's Game Boy Advanced is $25,000.

4. Off the top of my head, here is the main Christian game developers:

Two Guys Software/XrucifiX
N-Lightning
Brethren Entertainment
Rebel Planet Creations
323 Studios
Left Behind Games
Micro Forte
Graceworks Interactive
Digital Praise

That's not a complete list but it is the developers I'm familar with.

I'll be honest though, the Christian game industry is so small at this time I doubt any would be willing to take on an external project unless you can pay for it.

Thank you for the info.

As you can tell, I'm not up on how the business works. However, I do love playing the games!

I'm excited for you and the others that are using your gifts and talents in this area.

Thanks again!
