What do you include in a bio when you have nothing to include?

Firefeet!! You most certainly have stuff, no one has a blank life! I will e-mail you my bio if you want. Then you can use it as a template. Just let me know. :p

I mean, I can't write something grand like, "Dale's poetry has appeared in countless literary publications of great renown. Her five collections of poetry have all appeared on the NY Times Bestsellers list and have been reviewed as being 'the most stunning poetry penned since the days of Shakespeare.' She is currently on sabbatical in the tropical Cayman Islands and preparing for a world tour of poetic readings."
Mine is more like, "Dale is a crazy old spinster who adores her cats and who writes incredibly bad poetry that no one will ever read."
:D

A bio is more like who you are, occupation, what you've done in life and so on. A writing reume is more professional which would include writing credits. You have to start somewhere. No everyone starts with published credits.
You write good poetry.

Ok. let me revise that to read, ""Dale is a crazy old spinster who adores her cats and who writes good poetry according to sympathtic friends." :D
Seriously, though, I didn't intend this to become a self-pity thread...just looking for a good discussion and some honest answers.

I never knew what to put in mine, but until someone actually begs for more I think, 'Miche is a novelist living in south Florida with her two sons,' about says it. I left out mention of the snake, I don't why, she's an awfuly nice snake.
That's funny Fire Feet,
I've had the same challenge. I recently submitted an article about my website, and their was a section I believe it said Synopsis, Authors' Bio something like that, I went blank and so did that portion of the form.
I have a good friend "published author" who's helping me put one together. I never know what to say about myself.
