Hey has anyone heard of 1st Books Library Publishing? I received a letter about them wanting to publish some of my work, but then the packet they sent concerning a contract, request a check or credit card information to be sent with submission.
Please respond.

99.9% of the time, a publisher asking you for money is a bad sign. Unless, of course, you're working with a vanity publisher. Check out websites like www.nwu.org and other similar websites which offer info on things like that to watch out for when it comes to publishers and literary agencies.

In my limited experience, I'd say don't touch this one. There ARE some legit agents & publishers that charge to insure that they are receiving serious inquiries, but............ I'd stay away unless it's someone I'd personally heard of or had a favorable recommendation from.
