Hello everyone,

Here is an opportunity to get paid for your Christian Articles, Poems, Short Stories, Artwork, Quality made Cd's, etc. The work will be published in our quarterly book. Publishing is scheduled to begin April 2005. The topic for the book is RECONCILIATION, so all work should be centered around this theme. Fiction or non fiction is welcomed.
Pay:will be offered upon acceptance of your work. Send work via e-mail at the bottom of this message. All work that is not excepted will be sent back to the author, destroyed, or deleted.

Submission guidelines for quarterly book

at least 50 words for poems, at least 300 words for articles, and no less than 1000 words for short stories. Send pictures of artwork (only) as attachments.

Given the topic, the audience is everyone.

WRITING STYLE
Very modern, able to generate a real message from the soul for those non Christians who ask, "How can what you have to say, relate to me". Can be from personal or non personal experiences of reconciliation to God

The work will be published in our quarterly book. Publication is scheduled for April 2005.

OWNERSHIP OF THE WORK
From the time an agreement is made until 6 months after the book is released, authors may not use the work or sell it. After the specified time period, author retains all rights and is free to use the work again as he or she chooses.
The work submitted must be first works, meaning it must not have been published before. We are accepting work that has been written or artwork done during the years 2004 and 2005.

The topic for the book is RECONCILIATION, so all work should be centered on this theme. Fiction or non fiction is welcomed. Some people have been reconciled from deeper issues than others. Feel free to express that in your work.

Authors may submit works freely. There is no limit to the submission amount. Just make sure that the topic is about RECONCILIATION. It is possible to have one, two, or several of your works chosen. Do not send email attachments unless it is a picture of artwork. Hundreds of submissions needed. Best Wishes! If you have any questions you can e-mail me at: directorofquarterlysubmissions@nacwa.us

God Bless

Hmmmm. What is the pay? How can you ask for submissions and get the book published by April??

I'm sorry but this doesn't look like something I'd want to contribute to. Good luck.

I've checked out the site and I don't see anything out of the ordinary. The site does have a membership program but you do not have to be a member to have your work considered. I don't see any reason for alarm.

Please don't throw into question the intent of those who post threads here. If you do feel like something isn't right, just let Rebecca know and it will be taken care of.

In this case, I call it no harm no foul.

I was thrown by the timing thing, but if you've checked it out, cool.

I checked out the website before I posted and didn't feel really good about it,though there was nothing I could put my finger on. But as you said Bill, maybe I shouldn't be so hasty to call foul. Hope all who submit have a good experience. !thumbsup!

It looks like $10-$30 per chosen entry (more than likely based on the size of the piece).

Oh, thought I'd give a follow up - they purchased 3 of my photos and one story for use in the book. So I guess you could say that I had a good experience. !thumbsup!

Thanks. These were the first photos I had even tried to sell - so it was really nice to see them so well received (3 was the most they would accept from any one individual).

Hi. Do you still need stories for your book?

Joy,

The book is already in production. Since they list this as a quarterly endevor you may see another opportunity in the coming months.

Hi. Thank you. I thought that it was too late, but I thought that I would check anyway. Congratualtions on getting your story and pictures published in this magazine.

Joy,

This is actually a quarterly book project - an anthology. In this case they pay for the use of accepted material. You might check their website for further details (the address is found in the first post on this thread).

Write On,

Glenn !thumbsup!

Glenn,
How much did they pay you?
And how long did it take to get paid?
did you pay the membership fee?
Was it worth it?

Dave,

They choose the price per accepted piece (between $10-30 per piece) This is because they accept poems as well as long form writing - so they weigh what the piece is worth - (don't think it had to do with a certain amount per word). They paid me $25 for my article submission and $10 a piece for three photos - total - $55. I received my check a week after they received the release form from me. They ask for one time rights (six months from publishing date) - must be new material - but after six months you can sell it again if you want to.

As far as becoming a member - I didn't have to.

Yes, I would do it again. They were really good to work with.

Glenn !thumbsup!

What great news, congrats on having your work accepted! Seldom does one hear of such a quick response to work that has been submitted. I've just had some of my work put into an anthology - and it has taken 2 years to go through!!! Ah!

Awesome! !thumbsup!
