Remember my film idea with the homosexual characters set in 1957? And I was concerned about the redemptive nature of the script? Well, I've finally got to the end of it and all has been revealed. It is certainly redemptive and I feel so much better about it :) Other Christians had been questioning my wisdom in writing the screenplay, but, after praying it through, I still felt this was the story God wanted me to write. And I only found out why when I got to the end. Now I'm working on the second draft and will submit it to the Rise Film Contest.

Other news is that my short film Spinning about a mother who discovers a woman is having an affair with her 15-year-old son, has got through to the next round of the BSSC (British Short Screenplay Contest) - ok, so have another 300, but at least it's going forward!

My other short film, currently in production, should hit the screens in October. I've felt very sidelined by the director, but, from what I've been told, this is fairly standard. Oh well.

Hooray! Isn't it wonderful when it comes together. Are you aiming to sell this one? Or do it as an independent project?

That is great! May the Lord bless not only this project but all you others as well!

Thanks Lynn and Dr Rita. I'm going to enter this into a competition first and see what happens. If it gets shortlisted I know it's got a chance in the market place. I haven't tried to sell anything yet. My short film that's currently being made was through a UK Film Council development initiative. Not much development going on for full-length features though!

Fevsmith, that's wonderful news about your full-length story. When you shared some of your idea before, I could picture some of the scenes very clearly. It was raining, the pavement was wet, it was getting dark (in more ways than one!), and I remember the piano. Goofy thing, this visual (and imagined) memory. I'm especially glad that you found a redemptive ending -- I'm sure that must feel good, after all the energy you've spent on this.

Well it is London so the chances of it being wet are very high!
