I accessed my account from 2 public computers, on a few occasions. I noticed that after the first time, it brought me straight to my account and I didn't need to log on. I am not pleased about this.
I was going to ask the owners of the computers how to remove it so that a person would have to sign in, but didn't want anyone to know and overhear our conversation. I could not find a way to sign out.
At one point through experimentation, I located a page to sign out and did so. However, upon testing it to see if it worked, it still allowed "anyone" to sign on and access my account.
I don't mind it doing this on my personal computer, but am not happy with it being open to the general public to browse.
What do I do?
You may also want to notify everyone else that this happens.

Proverbs:
What's happening is that either the cookie from ChristianWriters.com is being downloaded to the public computer (to facilitate quicker future access) or the web browser is simply caching the page with your login info.
If it's caching, here's what to do (on Microsoft IE):
1. Click on Tools, Internet Options
2. Click on "Delete Files" under "Temporary Internet Files"
3. Check the box labeled "Delete All Offline Content"
4. Click OK
If cookies are being held -- that's a different matter...
1. Select "Tools", Internet Options
2. Select "Settings"
3. Select "View Files"
4. When the Temp files folder pops up, look for a cookie entries that begin with your user id: (ex. chadd a. wheat@christianwrtiers.com) and delete it.
It's a pain, but it's the easiest way to delete your cookies from a public or borrowed computer without deleting other users' cookies.
Hope this helps!

Hi Proverbs31wmn,
The easiest way to fix this is to "sign out" before you leave the public computer. Simply visit the forum home page at http://4Believers.com/forums or click the ChristianWriters.com forums link above. There is a small link to "log out" at the bottom of the page, in the left/center. Just click it, and your problem is solved.
The future site update I am planning will add this link to the main menu to simplify the process.
Cawheat... you can really get around on the computer! :) hehe.. I appreciate your stepping in to help out. Thanks!! :D

Rebecca and Chadd,
Thanks for the reply! However, I tried to do what Rebecca recommended first and it didn't work. It still allowed me to access my mailbox without signing in.
Then I tried what Chadd recommended, and I could only go so far as to the Internet Options. Once I clicked on "Internet Options", it would not allow me to go any farther, it indicated that there were "restrictions". It gave me a message that read "This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator". I hate to ask one of the employees here, they're mostly young kids and I'm not sure it would be done without the curiosity of browsing. They usually tell me they don't know how to do anything on the computer and would have to ask someone else and get back to me.

Hi Proverbs31wmn,
Don't worry, we'll get to the bottom of this. ;)
What exactly do you mean by "it still allowed anyone to sign on and access my account?" Is your name/password appearing automatically in the log-in box? Or does it never actually log you out?
Also, could you please tell me what browser you are using?
Talk soon! :)

Sorry it's taken me a few days to reply to you, I never got an email that you posted a reply. I just happened to check today and saw it.
It never really logs me out I suppose. All I do is go to this website, and it brings up the homepage. I click onto my account and it brings up my mail as if I logged in. It doesn't ask me to sign in at all, so fortunately it doesn't show my passcode. However, if I click on that I want to send an article or something, it does have my screenname and email address already logged in at the bottom.
I've tried all sorts of things. I'm not really computer literate so when you say what browser...do you mean like whether it's AOL, Yahoo, NetZero...? If so, it's Yahoo.
