The long green tendril ranged outward from the edge of the rippling blue lake. It was covered in slimy grey scales and had what looked like eyes sticking out of it here and there up the distance.

The girl stared at it as though fascinated. Then, as it reached toward her with a sucking noise, she stood and screamed loudly. With a look of fear she turned and fled up the incline away from the shore.

Behind her, as she screamed, the green arm jerked and swung away. Then it stood up straight out of the water and made another horrible sucking noise.

With that, it began to sink back into the shimmering water, and within a few minutes, the lake had returned once more to its wistful stillness.

Then Jennifer woke up, relieved that it had all been a dream.


(Sorry! I couldn't resist! But the green scales reminded me of the Jenar and it seemed so scary it had to be a dream. I'm just joking around! Sorry, Rachel!)
